Numbur Cheese Circuit Trekking

The Numbur Cheese Circuit is a new eco-trekking route in the Ramechhap District of Nepal, about 190km north-east of Kathmandu. It leads us through a still relatively less visited area, partly uninhabited, characterised by rhododendron forests and pastures and higher on by glaciers and by a richness in biodiversity.
We will follow two beautiful river valleys and pass several lakes, which are holy for Hindus and Buddhists and perfectly embedded in the mountain scenery. When walking in April or May, we enjoy the blooming rhodendrons and the meadows, dotted all over with springflowers. But the trek will not only be un unforgettable experience in the wilderness, but also culturally very impressing: we have the opportunity to get in touch with the culture of the Yak and Chaurifarmers, to stay overnight in a traditional home of the Sherpas and to learn a lot about and from their way of life. In hidden tibetan monasteries you will have the chance to find out more about this philosophy or even to witness the daily ceremonies.
The splendid views, you can catch on this trek, include the Annapurna range and the Mt.Everest range. It´s not a trek for high mountain seekers but it will perfectly show you the variety of nepalese culture and nature in the Himalaya.
This trek has a recommended itinerary of 14 days, but it can be also completed in 10 days by combining some of the days with shorter walkingtime.
March to June and September to December are the best seasons for trekking in NCC. However, Shivalaya, Lhachhewar , Kyama, Gumdel, Pekey and Serlo areas can be visited with various customized packages throughout the year. Lhosar (During February), Buddha Purnima (During May) and Janaipurnima Festival (Full moon during the end of August) are some important events to observe local culture and traditional rituals.
